What Is a Cube Draft?

Thinking of joining us but not sure what a “cube draft” is? Check out this excellent guide that walks you through how to build and play a Pokémon TCG cube:

Cube Draft

A curated collection of cards that players draft from to build a custom deck, not tied to specific sets.

How It Works

Players pick cards one at a time from a shared pool, generally in multiple rounds, then square off using those drafted decks.

Why Cube?

Great for variety, fairness, and balancing power levels—perfect for casual birthday fun.

What is the Cube Format?

The cube contains 360 custom cards.
Players will draft 40-card decks.
Games will be played with 4 prize cards.

What should I bring?

Bring your dice and playmat if you have them.
A limited number of extras will be available if needed.

Is there an entry fee?

No entry fee — just bring good vibes.
If enough players are interested, we may pool cash for prizing.

How do matches work?

Matches are best-of-one.
Each match has a 35-minute time limit.
There will be 7 Swiss-style rounds in a round-robin format.

How is scoring handled?

Win = 3 points
Tie = 1 point
Loss = 0 points

How are ties broken?

Head-to-head result between tied players.
If tied and both reached the point threshold in the same round:
- The player who had their first loss later advances.
If still tied:
- A sudden death game will be played — first prize taken wins.
